Department of Psychology
Psychology is an important subject area as it is concerned with the study of behavior and mental processes. Psychology also refers to the application or usage of understanding, knowledge and skills to a number of areas of human activity, involving issues concerning with daily activities such as education, events, people and their task, employment, association, relationship as well as the treatment of mental-health problems.
Psychology of Learning and Human Development (UDAB) is a core paper as prescribed by the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University. The main objectives of the course are to acquire the knowledge of the process of cognitive, social, moral and emotional developments and to understand the process of learning and the factors influencing learning.
Bloom Resource Centre - Laboratory
The Psychology lab has been renamed as Bloom Resource Centre. The resource centre is equipped with curriculum related wall hangings, Charts, photos of eminent Psychologists, organized and categorized departmental library, E-books, video lectures, LCD projector and computers with internet facility. From time to time the department organizes workshops and seminars.
